Product Innovation (NPD Support)
PPM specialise in bringing your new and innovative concepts to life. Working alongside the NPD team, we will map out the ideal end-to-end manufacturing process, reviewing your current business capabilities and pinpointing any new equipment requirements.
We offer support through feasibility trials, this could be on site in your factory, working alongside your process and operations teams or off site at equipment manufacturers testing the latest manufacturing technology that could offer you the most effective and efficient solution. Either way, key data will be captured and summarised into detailed trial reports.
Before considering any new equipment investment, the proposal must be fully ‘fit for purpose’. You will need assurance that the solution can consistently produce your products to the desired quality and to scale. Additionally, understanding its complete capability range will help future proof and avoid unnecessary modification costs further down the line.
Product & Component Processing (Process & Operational Support)
From raw material and component processing to on-line assembly, we will support your Process and Operations functions to ensure your end-to-end processing is fully efficient and delivers the required quality consistently and to specification. We will help to identify bottlenecks, raw material variances, yield variances, quality variables, and overall inconsistencies within your production.
We can investigate additional quality controls that could be implemented, such as paperwork formatting and ensuring any potential variable has been identified and considered.

About our Business Director
Following 12 years as a chef, Rob cemented his career within chilled food, working for 2 of the UK’s leading food manufacturers, developing multi-retailer products into categories such as Ready Meals, Deli, Soups, Sauces, Food on the Move & Dips. His creativity, passion for food and innovative thinking helped him secure a long-term role at Bakkavor.
Initially, within the NPD team, Rob worked his way up from Development Chef to Business Development Manager, leading the sites Marks and Spencer Development team.
Rob’s desire for manufacturing quality and consistency led him to the Innovation team, where his goals were to establish the most effective and efficient end-to-end processing solutions for either brand-new concepts or to work alongside the relevant sites’ Operational and Process teams on current factory products.
Rob understands the importance of the customer, and his mission is to share his knowledge and expertise by supporting businesses with their Development and Production of successful chilled food products.
